<description>The mission of the Japanese Cultural Fair is to preserve the various traditional aspects of the Japanese culture for future generations (regardless of age, ethnicity, religion, etc.) to know and appreciate. It is our hope that in our small way, we can foster further understanding between people and hopefully lead to world peace.
The next Japanese Cultural Fair will be held in Santa Cruz on June 19, 2010; it will be the 24th year for the event which brings together possibly the most comprehensive presentation of traditional Japanese culture in Central California--if not the entire West Coast.
A very major difference this year will be the absence of the Nichi Bei Times as one of our major sponsors and helped publicize and get the word out about the Fair for the last several years. Its absence will be sorely missed.
The major sponsors of the event have consistently been the City of Santa Cruz, its Sister Cities Program, Watsonville Taiko, and the Watsonville-Santa Cruz chapter of the JACL. It has been able to function on a minimal budget from grants and mostly donations. In this sputtering economy, more donations are needed.
Please visit our website and donate generously via our paypal account or by mailing a check to PO Box 3458, Santa Cruz, CA 95063. Every little bit will help this important event stay alive for the sake of the children.
